Visalia Assembly of God Church has a very dynamic and powerful music program. AMT’s mission was to provide an audio, video and camera image magnification system that could meet the demanding music production and spoken word requirements of this ever growing church.

The new facility is a 2,000 seat multipurpose room that includes a 40’ x 80’ stage, balcony video production suite and a raised platform for the floor mix booth. From the beginning of this project the church’s technical committee was very involved in the design process offering input that related to their usage. They attended two large industry trade shows with the AMT design team and sponsored a day of speaker shoot-outs to confirm their choices of speaker cabinets.

The sound system uses a top of-the-line touring speaker with concert quality amplifiers and digital signal processing. The system was tuned using the latest computer based analyzing devices. The result is a system that is both natural and open sounding with a powerful punch.

The video projection system includes two high output 5000-lumen projectors that display on 15’ x 20’ motorized projection screens. The platform, main lobby and backstage are all equipped with 27” television monitors. Individual signals from the main video production suite allow a separate signal to be transmitted to any of the monitors. The production suite switcher includes inputs from two computers for different PowerPoint presentations, VCR and DVD sources and cameras for image magnification and archival recording.

The camera system currently consists of two cameras, but has the infrastructure for a total of five. These cameras are mounted on remote controlled pan/tilt/zoom units that allow a single operator in the video production suite to control all of the functions of multiple camera operators without the distraction of a local operator. The camera console consists of manual controls as well as presets that allow for an exact recall of the most common shots such as the pastor’s pulpit.

All of this production equipment helps the pastoral staff of Visalia Assembly of God Church bring a powerful message with a powerful punch made possible by the technical sophistication of an AMT designed and installed sound and video system.
