Grace Community Church - Sun Valley, CA


Description of Project:

This well-known landmark church located in the San Fernando Valley is the center of a large campus on Roscoe Boulevard. Pastor- Teacher John MacArthur is also President of the Master’s College.

AMT Systems was commissioned to re-engineer the existing sound system for improved coverage, intelligibility and gain before feedback. The results of our redesign work include greatly improved choral and music reinforcement in all 3,000 seats and a significant reduction of the unacceptable reflections off the side and rear walls. AMT was pleased to work with Minister of Music Clayton Erb on this project.

AMT Systems also designed, furnished and installed a video projection system featuring catwalk-mounted LCD projectors and rear projection screens providing images for the seating flanking the platform near the front wall, left and right. Sight lines to the platform from these seating areas are compromised by the viewing angle and the physical construction dimensions of the platform. The addition of these screens has played an important role in improving the sense of participation at service for those seated here.

AMT Systems completed a sound system design and installation for the Chapel on the Grace Community Campus. The interior of this popular wedding venue was renovated from floor to ceiling with new architectural lighting, all new interior finishes, and a new full range sound system consisting of JBL main and delay clusters fed from QSC power amplifiers and Biamp digital signal processing and routing electronics. The system was designed to accommodate all of the spoken word requirements with wired and wireless microphones systems as well as floor box and wall input panels to fulfill the requirements of contemporary music ensembles and soloists.
